Cobra Administration
COBRA, (the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985), is the federal statute that requires most group health plans to permit individuals who have lost plan coverage because of certain events to elect to continue that coverage, at their own expense, for a specified number of months (generally 18 months unless a second qualifying event occurs).
